The past few months...

Just thought I'd drop in and let y'all know what's been going on here in the great Northwest these past few months. Not much! Since I can't seem to find a job, for who knows what reasons, we are a little short on money so we spend a lot of our time at home. Depressing, I know.
We just got high-speed satellite internet through Wildblue. I had never heard of it, but my mother-in-law Judy was asking her current satellite provider for t.v. if they provided internet and they informed her that they did, but they were the "middle man". She then asked who they went through and the rest is history. They charged an arm and a leg to bring out the satellite and install it, but she agreed to it reluctantly. Yeah, normally you'd put the satellite on the roof of the house, but since there are so many trees and hills where we are, he had to put the satellite right in the middle of the yard. By the way, it's on a 6 foot pole, so you can't miss it.
The whole project almost got cancelled because of where the sat. is. The guy that was installing it said we would have to bury the cable running up to the house, but neither I nor John wanted to do that so we told him to do it for his rate of $2.00 per foot. I didn't think it was that far so I just let it go. I went outside a few minutes later and got an idea of how far it was and it ended up being about 100 feet! He had already dug about 60 feet when Judy called and told him to stop because she wasn't expecting to pay for any digging fees AND she wanted to cancel the whole thing and not get internet at all! I was pretty desperate to get internet so I came to my senses and volunteered to dig the rest of the trench. So to make a long story short, after using dial-up internet for over a year now, we now have high-speed internet!
That's not the only thing that has happened these past few months, but since this one took up so much space, I'm going to continue this another time, hopefully 3 months won't pass until my next posting. ;)
