Snow in Washington (December)

does this thing still work?

Hey everybody! Just thought I'd give you a bit of an update on our shenanigans and stuff.
So we're Washington now, not Oregon. It's been interesting. The drive up here was fast and furious. We bought a little tent to camp out everynight with at the KOAs but ended up only using it twice and getting cabins the rest of the time.
The winter up here was just amazing (at least I thought it was)! It rained alot in October and November and the first half of December. Then the last half of December it snowed almost everyday! I've never seen so much snow in my life. Of course it got hard to drive around in. Judy couldn't drive her truck in it, John couldn't really drive his car in it either. We put chains on John's car, but that only helped a little. Luckily our 4WD Ford Escape with no chains OR studs handled the snow pretty well so we were busy shuttling everyone around for a few weeks.
So Sarah got a job at Target back in October or November as a Temporary Seasonal worker with very few hours, but later on she got hired permanently. She still had terrible hours but it got better, then she transferred to Target's Food Avenue and she got an even more steady schedule. Now there's even better news, she was promoted to be the Specialist of the Electronics Department! So that's a raise, consistent hours, rotating weekends, and not as many nightshifts.

As for me, Zach, I've been unemployed the whole time, unless you count the 8 days I worked at Expressions Studios. I'm trying to get into the photography business by selling my photos to magazines, calendars, or post cards. I have a meeting with the Small Business Development Center Monday Aug. 10. Pray for me!
I've been putting in applications to alot of places but nobody has been hiring due to the recession. Now it is looking like alot more businesses are beginning to hire so hopefully I'll be employed within a few weeks
I really hope I can find a full time job soon because our student loans are creeping up on us and we are barely able to pay the deferments. Sarah's student loan company is saying she can only defer one last time for 3 months, then we have to start paying them off! Luckily it's only the interest, but that's about $550, so I don't know what we're going to do when that happens.
We're living with John and Judy still so that helps, but it's still hard.
Be praying for us!
